I define a better world as one that is more:
Empathetic
I believe that there is always something to be gained from considering someone else’s experience. To me, listening to someone’s story has the potential change your entire worldview, and sharing yours is revolutionary. My non-profit is based on these ideas.
Kind
At the end of the day, things are better when people are nicer. I strive to lead by example, considering the effects of my words on the world around me and encouraging others to do the same. This doesn’t mean that I think the world is sunshine and roses, just that I try to lead with the sunshine.
Joyful
One of the coolest things I’ve ever learned is that joy and happiness are not the same. You can experience joy even during very unhappy times, and you can create experiences of joy for yourself. I value joy & fun very highly, and I do my part to spread that wherever I can.
My Background
My work experience in the marketing field is well-rounded and robust. Outside of the office I am the Vice President of my local Modern Quilt Guild. No matter what role I’m in, I’m the camp counselor of the group. Building connections, mediating conflict, and uplifting morale.
